PyCon day 3.
I'm preparing the Docutils talk together with David Goodger.
The talk (at 01:20 pm) is so-so. I'm still struggling with English a bit, and during the talk I'm not always sure if people understand what I'm saying; we're rushing through a huge bunch of things, including the architecture of Docutils, all in 45 minutes. At the end of the presentation, I show how a Transform is created, live, using editor and shell—which turns out to be a bit complicated because I'm working on a Mac with two screens (Mac screen and projector screen), and Emacs and the shell are configured in a funny way. It looks probably a bit disorganized, but I somehow manage to present it comprehensibly (I think), and the transform works, then.
I get some positive feedback on the talk later, which is cool, because I really wasn't sure if I was reaching people.
Sorry, no photos at all. Somebody took photos of our talk; I'll see if I can get those later.
There's the closing address by Andreas M. Kuchling, and then there's a short information session on the sprints in the late afternoon.
I go out for dinner with Martin Pool. He's from Australia and works for Canonical on Ubuntu Linux and bazaar-ng. Nice guy!
